Drivers to Doctors - Volunteer Drivers

Provides volunteer drivers to transport individuals to and from medical appointments in Gabriola Island and Nanaimo.
Drivers to Doctors provides volunteer drivers for people who don't have any way of getting to and from medical or other health-related appointments, such as to Life Labs, the dentist, optometrist, registered therapist, or the pharmacy. Drivers to Doctors provides rides to these appointments on Gabriola and in Nanaimo.

Please Note:
  • If the passenger has any infectious respiratory symptoms, the ride will have to be postponed.
  • Drivers to Doctors do NOT have priority boarding for the ferry.
  • Ferry costs for trips to Nanaimo are not included in the service. Most ferry expenses can be covered using a TAP form. If the client is unable to pick up a TAP form from the clinic, they are encouraged to reach out for assistance. Additional information can be found by clicking the link for TAP BC details.
  • If the service is not eligible for a TAP form, such as a pick up from a hospital stay or to a dental appointment, the patient must pay the ferry fees for the vehicle and driver, as well as themselves.
