Counselling Services

Provided by Nanaimo Family Life Association

Offers one-on-one counselling for individuals, couples and youth.
One-on-one accessible and affordable counselling is provided to individuals, couples, and youth. Services are available to individuals and couples who identify need. Adolescent counselling is available to your 13-18 year old. For children under 12, please call the program coordinator. NFLA has skilled volunteers who complete a rigorous screening process and an intensive training program that prepares them to offer counselling services to those in need. NFLA's counselling approach is person centered and founded on the belief that each individual has vast resources within themselves that, when tapped into, can deepen self-understanding and insight and lead to growth, healing and change. These counselors help facilitate the journey to discover your resiliency and strength.

Counselling services in this program are based on a sliding scale based on a monthly net income and no one is turned away because of an inability to pay. Details of payment can be found on page 6 of the attached Orientation Package below. For those with a monthly net income of $5,000+ the fee is $60 for individual sessions, and $70 for couples sessions.
