This centre offers daily nutritious and hot breakfast, snacks, and lunches to Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals facing food insecurity.
Food insecurity poses a major challenge for our members on the DTES, especially those living with HIV and/or other comorbidities. Through the central work of our community health workers, Kílala Lelum offers daily nutritious and hot breakfast, snacks, and lunches for our members.
Every week, our Food Is Medicine and Food Security lovingly serves:
Every week, our Food Is Medicine and Food Security lovingly serves:
- 750 meals (or 150 meals a day), including breakfast and lunch, through our Food and
- Medication Management Program
- Two dinners via our Food Security Program
- Outreach meals and groceries
- Plus several hundred more meals in the evenings through our partnerships with the
- DUDES Clubs and the Inner City Women’s Initiative Society.
