Physical Disability Equipment Funding

Condition Specific Support, Disability Services, Financial, and Medical Equipment

Provided by BC Rehab Foundation

Provides equipment funding for individuals with a physical disability.
BC Rehab provides funds to pay for or secure payment for equipment that support individuals with physical disabilities. The organization funds a range of new and used equipment and will consider even the most obscure devices if they will assist an individual in their quality of life and personal mobility. Examples of the most frequently funded equipment include:
  • Power wheelchairs
  • Manual Wheelchairs
  • Driver’s rehab lessons
  • Custom orthotics
  • Specialized wheelchair seating systems
  • Ramps
  • Portable lift system
  • Scooters
  • Recreation therapy opportunities
  • Walkers
  • Assistive technology devices (e.g. Dragon speaking software)

BC Rehab Foundation grants are inclusive to these physical disabilities:
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Acquired brain injury
  • Stroke
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Spina Bifida
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Polio
  • Amputation
  • ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease)
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
  • Guillian-Barre


In addition to fully filling out the BC Rehab Individual Grant application form, it is also required that you include a letter of assessment and two quotes for requested equipment. The letter of assessment must come from an Occupational Therapist. BC Rehab requires two quotes from separate equipment vendors. The quote must outline all costs associated with the requested equipment. All applications must include a copy of the applicant's latest tax assessment and homeowners must include a copy of their latest property tax assessment.
