Central Island Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program (CICAPP)

Provides comprehensive and coordinated individual and family consultation and psychiatric evaluation and treatment for youth up to18 years old.
Aims to support youth and families living in Central Island communities to reduce significant emotional, behavioural, psychological, and psychiatric symptoms and increase the mental health and functioning of youth at home, school and in their community.

CICAPP has specialized services for children and youth who have:
  • complex mood, anxiety and/or psychotic concerns
  • complex neuro-developmental and associated psychiatric concerns

This is a referral-based services for children and youth. Family physicians, pediatricians and mental health clinicians may make referrals to the Central Island Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service. Contact Child, Youth & Family Mental Health Services to discuss a potential referral or obtain more information (see URL and referral form below). Examples of those who may be referred are youth with complex challenges such as depression, bipolar, generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, panic, post-traumatic stress, psychosis, or schizophrenia with or without concurrent ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities, or other developmental impairments.
