Community Health Centre (CHC) - Chemainus Health Care Centre

Offers a variety of health care services for those in the Chemainus area.
The Chemanius Health Care Centre provides a variety of services in one location for the community and surrounding area, including:
  • Urgent Care Unit treats urgent non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries needing immediate same-day care. NO overnight admittance; transfer to a larger centre will be arranged if needed.
  • Long-Term Care
  • Laboratory Services accessible by the text-based waitlist or online booking
  • Medical Imaging/Radiology requires a physician or nurse practitioner requisition for any diagnostic tests including x-ray, bone mineral density services
  • Adult Day Program
  • Mobile Mammogram Clinic comes to the CHCC twice a year; call 1-800-663-9203
  • Allied Health Care such as physiotherapy, held Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM by appointment. Call 250-737-2040 ext. 42241
Chemanius Health Care Centre Hours of Operation
  • Urgent Care Unit hours are in a state of flux; please call 250-737-2040 extension 42227 for updated hours.
  • Laboratory: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM, closed 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM, weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Medical Imaging X-Rays: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:15 PM. A tech is on call during weekends and statutory holidays from 8:00 AM - 11:00 PM
  • Medical Radiology Bone Mineral Density: only offered on Monday and Thursday from 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
